Funny Names Of Popular Ghanaian DJs and Presenters

Ghana is just about fun most times. DJs/Presenters in Ghana have been in existence for a long time now. We used to hear about them back in the days with those mobile entertainment outfits, what we call “spinners”.

DJs/Presenters for these outfits used to have some pretty hilarious names. I guess it was for recognition.

 Radio, Pubs and Night clubs have introduced a lot more DJs to us but it looks like the trend of having some funny name has not diminished. Sometimes you hear a DJ’s name and you go like, “REALLY”…….lol…. 

Below are Ghanaian DJs/Presenters with funny if not ridiculous names.

FRENCHKISS DJ – STARR 103.5FM

French is the official language by France whilst  Kiss is a making love with the mouth….Hmmmmmm!!! What A Name..!!!

DJ BAKAYOKO- ACCRA 100.5FM

As to what this means, only he can explain. Information indicates that he used to play for one of those “spinning” outfits.

DJ NYAAMI – KASAPA 102.5FM

A name which sounds like “Nyame”(literary means God). 

DJ CHAMPAGNE –Y107.9FM

He even has two champagne bottles crossed on his Macbook. But seriously Champagne???

DJ TOFIAKWA – AGYENKWA 101.9FM

Tofiakwa or however way it’s spelt is a Nigerian word meaning, “May God Forbid” or something like that. As to why a DJ will choose to be called this name beats my imagination.

DJ AWANA – HITZ 103.7FM

Awana is a game time for Baptists and but apart from that it has no meaning. Hmmmmm!!!

BIG SHARK - METRO FM

Sharks are a group of fish characterized by a cartilaginous skeleton, five to seven gill slits on the sides of the head, and pectoral fins that are not fused to the head. What a name!!! Lol

DJ SAPII – MONTIE 100.1FM

It doesn’t really have a meaning to us bcos its not even a word.

DJ VYRUSKY – STARR 103.5FM

More like a swagged up word for Virus.

BONSHAYKA - HELLO 101.5FM

A name of an ancient vehicle which was popularly used in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and the 90s....Hahahahahahahahaha..What a name!!!

DJ APISCOLOLO - CRISBERRYS

This name cracks me up anytime I hear it. I guess it was his nick name back in school. Apiscololo paaaaaaa……Lol

ROMAN FADA- ATINKA 104.7FM

A Roman father who is a radio personality? As3m paaaa nie ooooo….!!! Will he wear a cassock.

DJ SAKAWA – SWEET PUB/ JEM 105.7FM

Sakawa is the local term for internet fraud, so for a DJ to choose this name, something beats our imagination………..As3m ooooooo!!!!

MRKAXTRO – VIENNA CITY/ ULTIMATE 106.9FM

His name sounds like the popular hiplife musician, Castro who got lost in the Ada River in 2014 but actually he is not that same person….Lol

DJ CHIEFARO – JEM 105.7FM

The name sounds like a chief of Pharoah, the ancient king of Egypt.

DJ ATOPA – KARLDORF

Atopa means twerk or gyrate……..now tell me if it’s even appropriate to be called that……Hahahahahahahahahahahaha..LOL

DJ SLIM - Y102.5FM

As a first timer honestly speaking the name will deceive you. Anyone who will presume DJ Slim will slim in stature. Folks , here is DJ Slim:

We cannot explain what it means. Fingers Killer....Hahahahahahahaha..Lol
