One District One Factory: Asante Akim North Proposes PLANTAIN, WATER MELON, TOMATOES OR CASSAVA Factory for the District.

The National Coordinator for One District One Factory Secretariat , Hon. Gifty Ohene Konadu today met with the opinion leaders,
chiefs and the DCE for Asante Akim North, Hon. Francis Oti Boateng, in a public forum to discuss and ascertain which kind of factory will benefit the district.

The district finally proposed plantain, Water melon, cassava and Tomatoes factory since the entire district can boast of these raw materials at hand.

The National Coordinator however assured the people of the district that she would communicate the proposal to the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for full take off soon in the district.

It could be recalled that the President officially launched Government's flagship One District One Factory initiative at a ceremony in  Ekumfi in the Central Region on the 25th August 2017. The Ekumfi Fruits and Juices Limited is expected to be completed in 2018 with the promise of creating over 4,000 direct jobs for the people and would employ some 5,000 outgrowers.

The One District One Factory programme promises to drive industrialization across the country.
