VIDEO: Feature On Hot FM's Odifour Kwabena Asare "Otwinoko"


Sensational and Popular Radio Presenter Linsford Kwabena Asare known in showbiz industry as "Odifour Kwabena Asare" and otherwise known as "Otwinoko" still
remains people's favourite on Ghanaian mass market radio, and has attracted many listeners, both home and abroad, into his fold of fans.

Odifour Kwabena Asare  became the toast of many radio listeners, because of the dexterity with which he hosts his program, made him a hot cake in the radio business.

A native of Nsuta in Ashanti, Otwinoko was born in Kokomlemle, Accra some 50 years ago to the late Sergeant Owusu Bediako a.k.a. Akatapore of the Ghana Police Service and Madam Martha Agyeiwaa, a businesswoman.

He schooled briefly and moved to Koforidua Anglican Primary as his father was on transfer there, then to Tamale Anglican Middle School and Duayaw Nkwanta Anglican Middle School. He had his secondary education at the Duayaw Nkwanta Secondary School where he completed his ‘O’ Level in 1990.

From there he took some private courses and obtained a certificate in laboratory technology, worked for two years at the KNUST Hospital and later to Rophi Clinic at Akwatialine before taking up radio on full time basis

Otwinoko started his radio journey with Kumasi based Radio Mercury (now New Mercury) and left the station for Multimedia group’s Nhyira FM in Kumasi in the year 2006 after the death of the Chief Executive Officer of Radio Mercury, Nana Kwabena Poku.

At Nhyira, he introduced the programme “Wiase mu nsem”, which had the same concept as that of the “Nsem Pii” programme, a popular evening social and religious radio programme.

Few years later, he left Nhyira FM for F-Giant Broadcasting Limited’s Fox Fm in also based in Kumasi. At Fox FM, Otwinoko hosted of “Nya Asem Hwe, a popular evening social and religious radio programme.

On the road to a blistering radio career, Odifour Kwabena Asare was struck down with a mystery illness years ago.
He returned to radio on 22nd November, 2013 on Accra based Hot 93.9Fm, a sister station of Fox FM .
Currently, Odifour Kwabena Asare is the host of “Nya Asem Hwe” on Hot 93.9FM aired on Mondays through to Fridays between the hours of 7pm-9pm. Aside this, he is also the host of a popular weekend radio reggae programme, Raggae School on Saturdays from 1pm to 3pm.
