Finally Atinka TV, a new subsidiary of the Tobinco Group of Companies in the Greater Accra region, Avenor to be precise, has been launched in grand style.
As part of the Atinka Media Village family, Atinka TV joins Agyenkwa FM 101.9 in Kumasi, Atinka FM 104.7 in Accra and Ahotor FM 102.3 in Takoradi. The station aims at being the voice for the voiceless in the Ghanaian society. Atinka TV can be found on the digital platform on your digital satellite television and will cover programmes such as news, politics, sports, business, entertainment, motivation etc.
Coincidentally, today November 2 happens to be the birthday of the Executive Chairman of the Tobinco Group of Companies. Speaking at the launch, the Executive Chairman of the Tobinco Group, Elder Samuel Amoh Tobbin, said the station’s major priority is to give voice to the voiceless in the Ghanaian society.
He said, “Based on life experiences over the years, I take heed from the past to serve society”, adding that although the station is meant to make profit, it will also be the channel for giving back to society.
He stated that, the station will also enlighten Christians who have deviated from the true teachings of Christianity due to the activities of false prophets.
He said over the years “fake prophets” have capitalized on the ignorance of society, extorting monies from them in the name of Christianity. As a man of God he said, it saddens his heart when “fake prophets” use Christianity as a money making venture.
Mr. Tobbin, a business man and a man of God said the private sector has been the drive of the Ghanaian economy; to that effect he advised employees to wholeheartedly embrace and serve duly to enable the establishment of other companies to employ more people.
He also urged employees to desist from the act of embezzlement of company funds to help the growth of the company.
