Kojo Oppong Nkrumah heads to Parliament


Former Joy FM, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah is on his way to  parliament from the Ofoase-Ayiribi constituency results.

Mr. Oppong Nkrumah, who ran in the ticked of the opposition New patriotic Party (NPP) polled an impressive 17,141 votes with the results of just four polling stations yet to be announced, Joy FM reports. His closest rival, the PPP’s John Obiri Yeboah polled 8,751 with the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s Tom Kenneth Budu securing 7,847 votes.

Kojo hails from Koforidua in the Easter region of Ghana and is a graduate of the University of Cape Coast, University of Ghana, and GIMPA. In 2016 he was called to the Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana.

Till 2014 he has host of Joy FM‘s flagship programme the Super Morning Show. He’s founder of a Private Equity Firm, West Brownstone Capital.
The ace journalist polled an overwhelming 218 votes to beat his closest contender John Obiri Yeboah who polled 114 in the primaries.

Mr. Oppong Nkrumah during his campaign promised to institute an education trust fund in the constituency to help needy but brilliant students if he gets the nod.

He also believes in the NPP liberal democratic ideology which convinced him to join the party as he shares the party’s philosophy.
